ART BIBLE
A n i m a M u n d i
I have been given the responsibility of 'Lead Artist' in order to define the look of the game, establish colour schemes and a unique art style.

As this is something I am not used to, I will go through a series of 'Training' both beforehand and during the process to understand how I can do this to my best ability.
WHERE DO I BEGIN?

I have begun by researching into Colour Theory, to understand colour association and mood, and use this to establish which will work best in the design for Anima Mundi.
Additionally, I have researched into harmonising colours to distinguish the best methods for creating the best colour combinations and overall an appealing and engaging environment.
THE ART BIBLE

I have provided 2D artists with the basic guidelines for the design of Anima Mundi through the form of an Art Bible. Within this Art Bible, I have included colour palettes, inspiration mood-boards and recorded our decisions for the final art-style outcome.

The Art Bible consists of mood-boards specifically made for asset creation. I have provided artists with these to inspire their design and in order to keep the style consistent throughout. Additionally you will find descriptions to ensure artists are aware of their expectations.

TRAINING

As well as making an Art Bible to train and guide the team in asset creation and to produce in line with a specific art style, I have provided the team with training based on using Adobe Illustrator. The video is a short run-through of my 'Creating a Concept' process which team members can refer to if need be. This will ensure team members are more comfortable with such programs and use it to the best of their ability.
REGULAR UPDATES/CHANGES

After each scene mockup/test I provided the team with feedback on their assets (via Slack and the asset list/table) where they were then able to take recommendations and improve their design. I updated this in the Art Bible and posted new inspiration boards to encourage changes and to be used as reference.

FINAL ASSETS

I created 4 separate Google Documents to record and track information for the following:

Art Bible - Art style guidance, colour schemes and boards.

Assets & Comments - Where final assets should be posted to be reviewed.

Asset List - A list of every asset needed and their expectation. This is also where I provide a review in the form of feedback comments and mark completion.

Scene Testing - Recorded asset testing in scene mock ups and an evaluation of the appearance. Provided feedback and asset completion checklist.
